SHENGEN: DARK & LIGHT
Not too long ago, everything seemed like a dead end to Shengen. It didn't matter that he was riding a high with the praise and accolades that were pouring in for his art. It felt desolate. But, luckily enough, he says, he found solace and subsequently, strength, in that space between two rapidly spinning wheels.
Photographing moving objects is always a difficult task. Shengen was zipping in and out of the light. As such, having him well exposed and in focus was a challenge. But it worked out well eventually. I caught Shengen in the shadow and also outside of it. Quite like how he was once mired in darkness and now pedalling about in the light. Talk about art imitating life!
